Learning through family

I still consider myself a newlywed, and am still as happy as a newlywed. This is my beautiful wife, Nikki, and our beautiful fur baby, Stella. No matter what is going on in my life, Nikki keeps me grounded and helps me realize where true happiness and fulfillment is found.

Above all, my family is where I learn the most. I learn how to communicate properly, how to be humble, and how important prioritization is. Through my patient and loving wife, I learn how happiness is a choice, and how forgiving quickly brings happiness to self and others. Through my beautiful, sometimes stinky dog, I learn that even through trials we can be happy. I love my family and the learning that takes place within.

Learning through service

I served a 2-year Church mission in Columbus, Ohio from 2015 to 2017. In this picture, my companion and I are teaching Nancy, a woman that was going through a difficult time. This experience, along with the rest of my mission, taught me much about success for others and myself.

I learned many things that will help me succeed in life. Among the many things that I learned was the importance of being prepared for any situation I may find myself in. Preparation is a huge indicator of success. "If ye are prepared ye shall not fear." -Joseph Smith

Learning through sports

This is a photo from the the very first college football game I played in. This also might be the most nervous I had ever been in my life. We didn't win this game which added to an already rough season. Although we didn't win this game, which added to an already tough season, there were many opportunities to learn.

Sports, especially college sports, has taught me a great deal of leadership. As a quarterback, being a leader is crucial, not only in deed, but also in word. Sports have given me an opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and to embrace new opportunities. It's also taught me the importance of discipline. I've learned that without discipline, goals cannot be accomplished.
